What is Jamf?

Jamf is a software platform that is used to remotely manage and inventory Apple devices. It also has the ability to report on installed software and hardware, allow remote assistance, deliver software remotely and install security patches.

Why do we need Jamf?

Jamf allows University Information Technology to remotely manage MSU Apple products, as well as provide security updates, operating system updates, application delivery and a remote administration tool. This program will simplify support and maintenance of devices across campus, as well as improve their integration into our campus environment.

Per MSU Enterprise Information Technology standards and procedures, installation of the software Jamf will be mandatory on all MSU-owned Apple devices.

How does Jamf benefit me?

  • Remote support willbe improved for IT professionals to make working on your devices faster.

Minimum device requirements

  • macOS 10.13.x High Sierra or higher
