Health Professions Advising Additional Office Space: Culbertson 330
Description of Request
Submitted By: Hilary Becker
The Health Professions Advising (HPA) office requests the use of Culbertson 330 as an additional office to support its growing team of 15–20 undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate peer advisors and mentors. With over 1,300 MSU students actively utilizing HPA services, the existing space in Culbertson 324 has become heavily used for studying, meetings, prospective program visits, and student club activities. While this activity has fostered a vibrant community, it has also limited opportunities for peer advisors to hold one-on-one appointments in a private setting. The requested space would provide a dedicated area for 1–2 advisors during business hours to conduct advising and small group meetings that require greater privacy. Culbertson 330 is currently vacant, no competing requests exist, and its proximity to HPA’s main office makes it a practical solution. HPA understands that the space may be reassigned if needed for a full-time employee in the future.
