MMF Equipment Room: Barnard 111
Description of Request
Submitted By: Andrew Lingley
The Montana Microfabrication Facility (MMF) is an open-access micro and nanofabrication core facility that serves students and collaborates with a multitude of research entities across campus as well as with industry partners. The MMF has recently acquired a new piece of equipment with a footprint of approximately 8x8 that requires a permanent location. Currently, the MMF occupies various spaces throughout Barnard and Cobleigh Halls, with Barnard Hall 111 being used as an office to accommodate students who work in the facility. After considering multiple options and working under a constrained timeline, Facilities in coordination with the facility manager, Dr. Andrew Lingley, and facility director, Dr. David Dickensheets, have determined that Barnard 111 is the most suitable location for the equipment. The MMF has clean room space in the same vicinity and already utilizes space in the adjacent optics lab in Barnard 110, so given the circumstances and the urgency of the placement, this location is the best fit.
