This immersive 2-week program offers undergraduate students from Kumamoto University the chance to enhance their English skills, improve academic abilities, learn about U.S. universities, and experience the American West. The students also learn about American culture while they are staying with local host families and exploring Bozeman.

The program’s English instruction focuses on speaking, listening, and writing, with an emphasis on:

  • Improving overall English fluency
  • Understanding American culture
  • Experiencing the U.S. university environment

In addition to classroom instruction, participants volunteer in the local Bozeman community and also visit the Museum of the Rockies and explore Yellowstone National Park, one of the world’s most geologically diverse landscapes.

Since its inception, MSU has hosted 73 undergraduate students through the program.
