I. Call to Order
a. Meeting was called to order at 3:15pm
II. Approval of FS Minutes from September 28, 2022
a. Clemente Izurieta moves to approve. Chris Posbergh seconds. None opposed. No abstentions. Approved.
III. FYI items
a. Spring Awards of Excellence- nominations due November 15 https://www.montana.edu/provost/faculty/awards/index.html
i. Primarily Faculty but Outreach and Engagement award is 1 faculty and 1 staff
b. Childcare Grant- Dr. Christine Lux, Dr. Craig Ogilvie (graduate school), ASMSU- $1.465 million
i. Offering extended hour, evening, and/or weekend childcare by partnering with existing licensed center
ii. Providing childcare tuition assistance for low-income student parents using a sliding scale fee structure
A. Provided for any licensed provider.
iii. Providing wrap-around services to student parents, including financial counseling, mental health support, nutrition resources, and assistance in finding childcare in on-campus facilities or nearby licensed childcare centers, family and group programs
iv. Enhancing the early childhood education undergraduate academic program and improve the professional preparation of the early childhood workforce, including providing skills training and mentored practice in infant and toddler care to interested students as well as stipend support for participation in the CCAMPIS project.
v. Hoping to get pieces of this in place in Spring semester.
vi. Do not know yet if post-docs would be eligible. Please reach out to Dr. Lux.

A. Student issues go to department head or dean? Yes, but the instructor contacts the student first.
B. Is there a clear policy of the quality of evidence a professor needs to show misconduct?
1. Beyond a preponderance of evidence
2. If an appeal goes to OCHE, they use the standard is, is there some foundational basis for the decision you have made?
C. Are memo recorders allowed? There is a policy that says students cannot record a lecture. They would have to ask professor for permission or have an ADA accommodation.
D. Will there be new syllabus language?
1. If so, it would be part of the updates that will need to be made across campus.
2. Copy write language should stay the same.
