COURSE CHANGES
First Read 3/5/2025
-
AVFT 121 : Aviation Fundamentals
- The Aviation Program is adding a new required course, AVFT 160 Enhancing Human Performance in Aviation. We have taken instructional material from this course, AVFT 121, and will now cover that material in the new course. As such, the credit hours will drop from 5 to 4.
-
BIOH 201 : Human Anatomy and Physiology I
-
Reduced credit hours on lab section
-
-
CSCI 483R : Interdisciplinary Project
- Change course from 3 to 4 credits since CSCI 482, whose pre-req is ESOF 322, is being deleted.
-
EBIO 316 : Elem Princ of Biological Engineering
- Number change from 216
- This course has evolved over the past 10 years and both the breadth and depth of the material covered has increased. Specifically, the course now supports both the Biological Engineering program and the Biomedical Engineering programs. While the core material of the course has not changed, an increase in the level at which the course is offered, from EBIO 216 up to EBIO 316 will better reflect the level at which the course is normally taught.
- Number change from 216
-
EBIO 424 : Bioengineering Transport
- Number change from 324
- Increase in the course number from EBIO 324 to EBIO 424 to reflect the increased complexity and integration that has crept into the course over the past few years as the course has grown to serve both Biological Engineering and Biomedical Engineering students.
- Number change from 324
-
ECIV 450 : Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Public Transit Design
- Title change from Public Transit System Design
- Changes to learning outcomes
- EGEN 350 or STAT 332 removed from prereqs
-
HLD 499 : Leadership Capstone
- Number change from 302
- As a capstone to the undergraduate certificate (ie the final leadership course they take before receiving the certificate), its previous number (302) is below the highest coursework number the HLD / Leadership Fellows rubric (i.e. HLD347; HLD498), which doesn't make inherent sense given this is a class students should be taking after these other courses.
- Number change from 302
-
MAS 110 : Department of the Air Force (DAF) Professionalism
- Title change from Heritage and Values of the United States Air Force I
- AFROTC Academic Affairs revamped the AS100 curriculum
- Title change from Heritage and Values of the United States Air Force I

Heritage and Values of the United States Air Force II
- AFROTC Academic Affairs revamped the AS100 curriculum

-
GDSN 352 : Letterpress Research Trip
-
Number change from 266
- This change from a 200-level to a 300-level course will assist with Graphic Design BFA student degree completion in a timely manner. It does so by reducing the number of independent studies that will be offered and taken by students who need 1 to 2 credits in their advanced studio area as a result of the varying scale of credits that the GDSN 498 internship course offers. As a result, it helps GDSN students receive the required credits needed in the advanced studio area. In previous semesters, these quick-fire courses did not count toward a student’s graphic design requirements; the course counted as an elective. By changing the class to a 300-level course, the quick-fire courses will count towards the student’s degree and major completion, helping complete the required credits in a timely manner, as requested by the Provost’s office.
