The Bracken Center helps Jabs faculty reinforce writing, communication, and career readiness across business courses, without adding extra prep or canceling classes.

Support for Students and Assignments

We partner with Jabs faculty to strengthen student writing, internship readiness, and career development in ways that fit your course goals.

Internship and Career Preparation

We help students connect your course to internships, early work experience, and long‑term career paths.

  • Introduce internship‑for‑credit (x98) options tied to coursework.
  • Support resume, LinkedIn, and professional communication skills.
  • Offer practical guidance students can apply right away.

Writing and Assignment Support

The Bracken Center offers writing support for business assignments across Jabs, especially in courses like BGEN 104, BMGT 205, BMKT 343, and BFIN 420R.

  • Students can bring drafts for feedback on structure, clarity, and tone.
  • We help them connect assignments to real‑world business communication.
  • You can reference Bracken in your syllabus as an optional resource, not a requirement.

Ways to Partner

You can:

  • Request a class visit or workshop – Bring us in for a Bracken Overview or a focused session (writing support, resumes, LinkedIn, internship search, x98 requirements, AI‑supported planning).
  • Align key assignments with Bracken support – Let students know they can bring specific assignments or drafts to the Bracken Center.
  • Share ideas for new collaborations – If you see another way we can support your course or student group, we’re happy to explore it.

No Canceled Classes

If you’re planning to miss a class for any reason—travel, conferences, illness, or personal commitments—you can invite the Bracken Center to step in instead of canceling.

We can use the class session to:

  • Introduce Bracken Center services and how students can use them.
  • Lead structured sessions on LinkedIn and networking, resume writing, AI‑supported career planning, or internship preparation.

During the Fall semester, “No Canceled Classes” visits reached more than 15 classes and over 180 students, and contributed to increased early engagement with internships and career support.

Extra Credit and Bracken Appointments

To keep Bracken appointments accessible and fair for all students, we ask that faculty avoid offering extra credit specifically for scheduling Bracken Center coaching visits.

We still encourage you to:

  • Reference the Bracken Center in your syllabus as an available resource.
  • Invite us into your classes through “No Canceled Classes” or planned workshops.
  • Encourage students to come for coaching when they need help with assignments, applications, or career planning.

Our goal is for students to see the Bracken Center as a meaningful partner in their learning and career development, not just a way to earn points.
