Smithsonian Spring Break Internship Program
Program Description
The Smithsonian Institution offers a number of opportunities for students to be involved
in hands-on internship experiences at its various museums and research units in Washington
DC. While projects are coordinated and administered through the Smithsonian Institution,
the Undergraduate Scholars Program (USP) is pleased to offer financial assistance
through a competitive application process for students accepted to participate in
internship opportunities during spring break week, March 2022.
Eligibility Requirements
This funding opportunity is open to Montana State University undergraduates from all academic disciplines. Students must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credits) for spring semester 2022, with priority funding for applicants with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students may apply for up to $1,500 to help off-set the costs of participating in the program. If funded, students will be expected to prepare a presentation of their project/experience for the MSU Student Research Celebration and submit a brief written report of their experience. Students do not have to be enrolled in USP in order to apply.
How to Apply
The application process is two-fold. Students will first search and apply for internships through the Smithsonian Institution website. Once students have an internship opportunity lined up, they can apply for travel funding through the USP application for financial assistance process. Please review the website for detailed instructions and guidelines.
