Dr. Steven Swinford

Vice President for Student Success
 
Dr. Steven Swinford earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University and has been a dedicated member of Montana State University for over 25 years. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Swinford has held positions such as Vice Provost and professor and has taught a variety of courses, including research methods, family violence, culture, social psychology, and social stratification. His research focuses on topics such as couple violence, substance use among emerging adults, and advancements in survey methodologies. Beyond his research and teaching commitments, Dr. Swinford actively participates in initiatives aimed at enhancing programs for student retention, persistence, and graduation at MSU.

Meredith Given 

Business Operations Manager 

Meredith Given grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She spent a year working in Spain prior to earning a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and Spanish from James Madison University. Meredith presently serves as the business operations manager for Student Success, offering support to Student Success, the Dean of Students Office, and of course, the MSU students.
