for Montana Middle and High School Teachers

World Quantum Day is an international event held on April 14 to generate interest in quantum science. This year, 2025, has also been designated by UNESCO as the International Year of Quantum. Find other International Year of Quantum events taking place in Montana here.The implementation of activities in these kits are also designated as a QuanTime events through the National Q-12 Education Partnership.
Scientists have used quantum mechanics to create technologies ranging from those we use every day - such as the chips in smartphones and microwave ovens - to cutting edge emerging technologies that have the potential to change our world! You can learn more about what Quantum is on this page, but no educator experience in quantum is required to be eligible for a kit!
Our goal is to help educators and youth engage in quantum through lesson kits for use on or around World Quantum Day - April 14, 2025. Activities are designed for grades 6-12.
The kit will include:
- resources about Quantum Science
- fun Quantum promotional items for your class
- lesson plans and materials for your class, including all supplies and printables needed.
Important Infomation
- Montana educators and youth leaders are eligible to apply
- The supplies and equipment are yours to keep and use again
- A short feedback form is requested at conclusion of the project. We will request you submit an artifact such as photos, video clips, student reports, artwork or other artifacts from your World Quantum Day celebration.
- Application deadline is March 16, 2025
- SAVE THE DATE: An online training will be held (and recorded) on Tuesday, March 25 from 4-5pm
