RESEARCHERS EXPLORE POTENTIAL OF SUGAR BEET BYPRODUCT TO ENHANCE ENERGY STORAGE TECH

Backed by a $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, a team of scientists will study how a byproduct of sugar beets can be refined into cellulose nanocrystals, showing promise for improving how heat is captured and recycled in a variety of industrial settings.

DISTINGUISHED PROFESSORS CORNISH AND CREEL TO GIVE A JOINT TALK

MSU professors Scott Creel and Neil Cornish will give a joint talk at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at the Ellen Theatre. The scientists will each present a brief overview of their work and then engage in a discussion about the way they approach science and what their approaches have in common.
