Fox Faculty Award

Dilpreet Bajwa
Dilpreet Bajwa, head of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in Montana State University’s Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering, has won the 2026 Fox Faculty Award for Accomplishments in Teaching, Research/Creative Activity, which recognizes excellence in teaching, mentorship, research, scholarship and creativity. Sponsored by the Martin Fox Family and the Office of Academic Affairs and Provost, the award includes a $3,325 honorarium.
“Dilpreet is an experienced and beloved teacher, a dedicated and caring mentor, and a highly accomplished and internationally recognized researcher,” wrote Brett Gunnink, dean of the engineering college, in his nomination letter. “His productivity is among the highest in the college, and he is a perfect candidate for this award.”
Bajwa is popular among students due to his mastery of the subject matter, ability to teach complex topics in an accessible way, his sense of humor and the wealth of real-world experience he brings to the classroom.
“I love your energy, enthusiasm and overall knowledge of the course material,” an undergraduate student offered for faculty feedback. “I really liked the real-world examples and implementations of manufacturing techniques.”
Bajwa has chaired the committees for two successful Ph.D. and six master’s students in the past six years.
