Program: BS in Microbiology

Program Learning Outcome: Perform basic microbiological lab techniques

Data Collected and Analysis: In BIOM 360 – General Microbiology students complete the assignment “The Unknown Identification Project”. A standardized rubric for assessing student learning is used on the assignment. Assessment results showed that this met threshold values on rubric scoring and will continue to monitor progress of students on this goal. Results also confirmed usefulness of embedded assessment and standardized assignment, especially given the transitions in instructors of this course in the past.
