Anne Camper

Anne Camper earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Montana State University in 1975 and has since distinguished herself in a number of extraordinary ways. She received the first doctorate to be awarded in civil engineering at MSU, was the first woman to be named a Regents Professor by the Montana University System in 2013 and was selected in 2014 as a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Camper is known for achieving excellence in research. She is  recognized internationally for her expertise in biofilms and their effects on water quality. She has served as associate dean of the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering and as MSU’s vice president of research. Camper has a proven record of working to improve issues related to gender, equity and diversity. She was the first chair of the President’s Commission on the Status of University Women, helped develop the commission’s vision for a successful future and earned a special award from the commission in 2016.

Anne Camper has been an extraordinary student, researcher, faculty member, mentor and administrator at MSU for over 40 years.
