Victoria Barnick

Victoria Barnick was raised in Ringling and graduated from Montana State University in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. She worked in the health care and informatics arenas. She established a research and scholarship estate fund at MSU and a current-use scholarship to support Montana’s female and Native American students studying the sciences. Now retired, Barnick spent the last 30 years of her career with a health care information company in a position that took her around the world as a consultant for hospitals. As a fourth-generation Montanan, Barnick wanted her gift to create the same opportunities for today’s Montana students. "My career was my jumpstart to visit the world," Barnick said. "I wanted to open doors and let someone else explore like I did and have the opportunity to get out there without the burden of debt.” Barnick is an advocate for MSU and its students. She was one of the only female students at her time who had the benefit of studying microbiology. She worked very hard to accomplish what she did in her career.

Victoria Barnick wants to create the same opportunities that she had for today’s Montana students.
