I. Welcome and Announcements

- Petersen noted several items. The summer construction season will be substantial. An evaluation and study of student housing facilities are underway. The ADA Advisory Committee has re-engaged this spring.
- Godwin announced Jason Browning will start his position as the Chief Data Officer on April 15, 2024

- Fastnow, Planning Council. Not sure who next chair will be, but indications are that Planning Council will continue its important work. Members expressed appreciation for the cross-sectional membership and vital discussions of Council. Role in accreditation as well as strategic planning, prioritization, and assessment is important.

- Mike Ouert, Admissions Director, Presentation: How we recruit, how students get here.

- Begin connecting with high school students in their sophomore year to build a pipeline of students interested in MSU.
- Top focus MT high school students. Visit every high school in Montana. Travel to College Fairs. Tribal College Visits.
- Micro target strategies for other geographical areas.
- Challenges to pipeline development. Decline of traditional name sources, such as ACT/SAT. Decreasing number of high school graduates. Number of students not engaged with the idea of going to university is increasing.

Markets with no known source database: Transfer Students, Non- Traditional Students,
underrepresented populations, and those returning
after more than one semester away.

- Preparing for the site visit, October 9-11, 2024
- Written report due in August
- NWCCU vision: Foster excellence, improving through self-study, and accountability to the public.
- Membership: Submit annual review, submit self-study, and participate in the Year 7 Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness.
- Planning Council will be asked to review drafts, participate in assessment
activities. Please be responsive to requests for participation!
