Gaines Hall Full Building Remodel
Gaines Hall has been in need of renovation for many years. It was built in 1961 and has not had major renovations completed in the building since that time. Beginning in the summer of 2008, Gaines Hall was taken down to solely its vertical columns and slabs. From there the renovation continued to add updated classrooms, offices, and labs including a new 270-person lecture theatre. The renovation was completed by summer of 2010 and had a budget allocation of $32 million. While under construction, Gaines Hall classes and labs were re-located to other spaces on campus, including the new Chemistry/Biochemistry Building and the modular buildings north of the Chemistry/Biochemistry Building.
