Issues and Solutions
Scanned PDF (Scores/Sheet Music) - How to get 100% in Yuja
Adobe Tags
- Open PDF in Adobe Acrobat (Full Version, Not Adobe Reader)
- Go to right panel - All Tools
- Click on - Prepare for accessibility (you may need to click on view more)
- Click on - Automatically Tag PDF
- Once Auto Tagging is completed, a panel should pop-up on the right side of the screen
- Double Click on the top tag usually named <Document> and change tag name to <H1> - this is now a Heading 1 tag.
- Remove any tags listed as table - this seems to be an issue for some scanned PDFs that include music notation
- Save PDF document
Canvas/Yuja - once adobe process is complete
- Upload to Yuja
- Once the PDF is uploaded, click the Yuja accessibility icon next to the file name
- Follow standard process to add accessibility documentation to the tags you created - auto generation is helpful and accessible.
- you will also need to set a language as well as a title for the document - this is easiest done in Canvas/Yuja, but can be done in Adobe if you want to dig a bit deeper.
