Montana 4-H Foundation Grants

Grants provide opportunities for youth and adults to strengthen their skills and maximize their positive impacts on the communities in which they live.

Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative's 4-H Club Community Grant:

The mission of Blackfoot Communications' 4-H Club Community grant is to help support the many 4-H Clubs located within its rural service territories. Each 4-H Club is encouraged each year to consider a community project that focuses on healthy living, citizenship, leadership, and community. This grant provides opportunities for youth and adults to strengthen their skills and maximize their positive impacts on the communities in which they live.

Blackfoot Communications takes the following criteria into consideration when selecting 4-H Community Projects:

  • 4-H Club is located within Blackfoot Communications' Cooperative rural service area, and other communities Blackfoot serves in its Montana and Idaho rural service territories.
  • 4-H members should be involved in determining, planning, conducting, and evaluating the project, and provides an opportunity to learn, grow and make a different in their communities.
  • Projecthas a lasting impact on its community; and
  • If the project helps young people learn, grow, and make a difference in their communities.

The Association of Montana Turf, Ornamental and Pest Professionals Professionals (AMTOPP) Scholarship 

AMTOPP is offering funding for beautificaiton projects. The application is due May 1st.

Montana Department of Agriculture - Rural Community Development Grant Program:

The purpose of the grant program is to assist funding community development projects conducted by rural youth organizations such as 4-H, by encouraging rural youth to conduct projects that will improve the quality of life in rural Montana communities, and to improve interaction between the rural and urban portions of these communities.

Scholarships:

Montana 4-H Foundation Scholarships

The Montana 4-H Foundation awards over 22 different scholarships to Montana 4-H youth and alumni each year.  There are a wide variety of scholarships with varying eligibility requirements.  Application deadline for these scholarships is February 14th.

Sanders County 4-H Council Scholarships

Sanders County 4-H Council offers scholarships annually to graduating seniors.  For more information contact the Sanders County Extension Office at 406-827-6934.

Montana Range Day Scholarships

To encourage young people's interest in range science and management, there are three scholarships offered annually through Montana Range Days for graduating seniors in High School or college students that are continuing their education.  This application qualifies the applicant for all three scholarships and is due April 30th.  The event is held in Beaverhead County again this year and the applicants are encouraged, but not required to attend.

Mary Naegeli Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be a resident of Montana enrolled (for the first time) or attending any accredited institution of higher education, on a full time basis, have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above, and must demonstrate an interest in forestry.  Applicants must have a Tree Farmer or a Tree Inspector as a reference.
