2026 Pesticide Education Webinar Series
The Pesticide Education Webinar Series offers one-hour presentations on pesticide and pest management related topics for applicators across the state of Montana. Each webinar is worth one private applicator credit (commercial credits are listed below) and is free to attend. You can sign up for all webinars at the link below.
Anyone interested in the topics is welcome to attend. You are not required to have a pesticide license.
Requirements
MSU Extension uses the web conferencing software WebEx for webinars. To receive credits you are required to view the screen, listen to the audio, and have the ability to type into the chat box. You will need the following to attend a WebEx based webinar:
- Internet or cell service;
- Computer and speakers (recommended), phone or tablet with the WebEx Meeting app downloaded.

How do I receive credits for attending a webinar?
In order to attend one of the webinars below for credits you will need to register in advance using the link provided. Please include your pesticide license number. Login a few minutes early to the webinar. The host will ask you to provide your full name and pesticide license number in the chat box at the beginning and end of the event. You will also be asked to provide your name or answer a question during the event.
You must be present for all attendance checks in order to receive credits. Please have your pesticide license number available during the webinar.

Precision Weed Management in Montana

- Speaker: Dr. Ricardo Pinto, MSU Extension Precision Agriculture Specialist
- Description: Precision agriculture technologies are rapidly changing how we manage pests, offering new ways to control weeds while cutting input costs. This webinar will cover the latest advances in precision technology specifically for weed management, including real-time targeted spray systems and drone applications. We will discuss how these tools directly apply to Montana farms, their effectiveness on hard-to-kill weeds, and the real-world return on investment (ROI) and margins producers can expect when moving away from traditional blanket applications. We will also share firsthand data and field results from current MSU precision agriculture research trials.

- Description: Kochia has become increasingly difficult to control in Montana due to the spread of herbicide-resistant populations. Basics of Non-Soil Fumigation for Montana Private Applicators

- Description: Non-soil fumigants are used to manage pests in a variety of agricultural settings including for burrowing rodents and insect management in grain bins, but their safe and effective use requires specialized knowledge and training. This webinar will provide an introduction to non-soil fumigation, including common uses, application considerations, safety requirements, and regulatory responsibilities for Montana private applicators.
