Biography:
Jaden Blackburn is a Master’s student at Montana State University studying paleontology. He graduated from MSU in spring 2022. Since then, he has volunteered in collections, fossil preparation, and paleontological fieldwork at the Museum of the Rockies.
Research Project:
A small partially articulated ornithomimosaur (Dinosauria: Ornithomimosauria) from the Hell Creek Formation of Eastern Montana
His current research focuses on the description of a small ornithomimosaur (ostrich mimicking dinosaur) from the End Cretaceous. This project centers around understanding the complex evolutionary history and growth cycle of ornithomimosaurs prior to the End Cretaceous Mass Extinction. This project improves our understanding of paleoecology, evolution, and faunal diversity during the End Cretaceous.
