On Sept. 22, MSU’s University Sustainability Office will host a sustainability summit featuring MSU subject-matter experts and nationally recognized guest speakers. The day-long summit includes workshops, panel discussions, and sustainability campus tours that are free and open to the public. Please join us for one or more of the events scheduled on 9/22.
One event in particular that we invite you to is the concluding keynote lecture. Join us for a powerful, thought-provoking lecture by Auden Schendler, former VP of Sustainability at Aspen One. Auden is an avid skier, life-long outdoorsman, self-described “dirtbag,” founding board member of Protect Our Winters (POW), and one of today’s leading voices on sustainability, both corporate and otherwise. Auden will share insights from his career in sustainability and discuss his latest book, Terrible Beauty: Reckoning with Climate Complicity and Rediscovering Our Soul (2024), a work Casey Sheahan describes as both “a rethink of the modern environmental movement” and “a love letter to the world.” This talk is free and open to the public, and registration is strongly encouraged. Attendance at the keynote lecture includes light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.
