Business students to offer consulting to area businesses and non-profit organizations
Montana State University’s Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship is seeking local and regional businesses and non-profit organizations that are willing to offer students practical business experience in return for research, issue analysis or operational advice during the upcoming fall semester, which runs Aug. 26-Dec. 6.
Participating students will be enrolled in “BMGT 463, Entrepreneurial Experience,” or “BMGT 475R – Management Experience.” Both are senior-level courses taught by Gary Bishop, an associate teaching professor of management.
During the four-month courses, students will help manage special consulting projects requested by area businesses and non-profit organizations. Past projects have included writing business marketing plans, developing marketing and advertising strategies, suggesting methods to improve businesses, recommending solutions to problems, re-branding businesses, designing marketing materials and brochures and assisting with human resources and customer service issues. Other projects have included market and competition analysis, website and social networking development, sales analysis and feasibility studies.
Businesses and non-profit organizations that wish to participate are invited to apply to the MSU JJCBE. Applications are due Aug. 2 for the Fall 2013 semester but applications after the deadline are encouraged for the Spring 2014 semester. All types of businesses and organizations are encouraged to apply.
