Accounting Professor Awarded Teaching Innovation Award
Bonita Peterson Kramer, professor of accounting, was recently awarded the American Accounting Association Forensic and Investigative Accounting Section Best Teaching Innovation Award for her case Cardinal Wholesalers, Inc.: A Fraud Examination/Auditing Case Simulation,” co-authored with Tom Buckhoff of Georgia Southern University. The simulation is based on a true fraud case in North Dakota and provides students with insight as to why auditors could miss a $1.75 million fraud scheme for five years. This case is currently being used by educators in Australia, Canada and throughout the United States.
