CoB Brings Family Business Program to Miles City
On Wednesday, May 27, in Miles City, Montana State University’s College of Business (CoB) will take its
State Farm Family Business Program on the road with a special seminar, Building Excellence into Your Business. This free event will take place at the Town & Country Club from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Advanced reservations are requested.
Presented by CoB adjunct instructor of management, Craig Ehlert, the program will demonstrate how to use the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Criteria to drive high levels of businesses performance. Businesses can utilize this model, based on a set of universal management principles and values, to analyze their operations and then develop a plan to build a sustainable, superior organization.
The CoB established the State Farm Family Business Program in 1994. This program received a boost in funding in March 2005 with a significant gift from State Farm Insurance Company, recognizing Bozeman resident Robert Jaedicke for his many years of service on their Board of Directors. The funds, placed in the Family Business Program endowment, enhance the annual program and the development of new outreach programs and seminars.
With additional support from Stockman Bank, the CoB proudly introduced the Family Business Program On the Road in 2006. The CoB continues to develop the Family Business Program On the Road by offering programs, guest lectures and seminars on issues important to family-owned businesses in communities across the state.
As the only statewide family business program, these events allow businesses to share ideas and concerns that are common to most family-owned businesses, but that also apply to any type of business. The program also provides recognition to pioneering and successful family businesses through the Montana Family Business of the Year Awards Program.
