Marketing Club Presents Guest Lecturer William Malek
William Malek, the Strategy Execution Officer for Strategy2Reality LLC and the former program director for the Stanford Advanced Project Management program at Stanford University, will be the Marketing Club's upcoming guest lecturer. The lecture will take place in Reid Hall 105 on Monday, January 28, from 5:10-6:30 p.m.
Malek's lecture, Executing Your Career Strategy," will focus on helping people find a job they love by planning and executing a personal strategy for the journey. His process is expressed in the Strategic Execution Framework, which is outlined in his recent book, Executing Your Strategy: Break it Down Get it Done, published by Harvard Business School Press.
Business owners, members of the community, MSU students and faculty are encouraged to attend and to participate in a question and answer session following the lecture.
Malek's work experience includes more than 28 years of corporate experience in strategic planning, management consulting and organizational development. Malek focuses on the study of strategy execution, organizational alignment and how to lead positive organizations. He was a past CEO of IPSolutions and has facilitated Fortune 500 senior management teams in companies such as IBM, Qualcomm, Cisco, McKesson and the Library of Congress.
As a top-ranked instructor, Malek has taught award-winning Stanford courses that he helped refine and develop such as "Converting Strategy into Action," "Designing Organizations for Execution," "Mastering the Project Portfolio" and "Leadership for Strategic Execution." Malek has the ability to adapt to the cultural diversity required in today's global market as evidenced by his successful deliveries and speaking engagements in India, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, South America, China and Europe.
Malek holds an M.B.A. from Capella University and a B.S. in engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara. A few of his certifications include Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) and New Product Development Professional (NPDP).
