College of Business Shines at Awards for Excellence Banquet
Both students and faculty are recognized at the Annual Awards for Excellence Banquet
The 23rd annual Awards for Excellence Banquet was held Feb. 22 at the MSU Strand Union Building. The banquet is co-sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association and the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce MSU Relations Committee.
The Awards for Excellence was established to bring together the Bozeman business community and Montana State University in a congenial atmosphere fondly referred to as "bridging the gap between town and gown. The awards given out during this event are considered to be highly prestigious and a great honor to receive.
Each year the Alumni Association asks each separate college for nominations of outstanding students. The number each college can nominate is based on enrollment and is determined by the alumni office. This year the College of Business (COB) was allowed to nominate five candidates.
The students chosen were based on the following criteria; senior standing, 3.50 cumulative GPA (min), and records of outstanding service to MSU & community. Students are then selected by faculty ballot.
Student nominations are forwarded to the Alumni Association who makes the final decision and contacts the selected students. The students, in return, choose a faculty member they feel most influenced their college careers.
Congratulations to the following COB winners:
Associate Professor of Business Management, Dr. Dan Moshavi, was nominated by Casey Cadena, of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
