Jaime Jelenchick wins Tellies and CINE Golden Eagle
Jaime Jelenchick's film, Montana Fare is awarded a CINE Golden Eagle in the Student Documentary category and 2 Bronze Tellies in the Health and Wellness category.
Montana Fare examines contemporary food culture in rural Montana through the eyes of two women, a suburbanite from Columbus, Ohio (Jenny Sabo), and a Native American tribal elder (Minerva Allen), who try to feed their families while living fifty miles from the nearest grocery store. Learn how these two women navigate the food issues they face, including nutrition and health concerns, food access and security, and their increasing distance from their food sources. Along with breathtaking scenery and down-to-earth, poignant discussions with both women, Montana Fare examines food's connection to race, class, and culture, and captures how two people with distinct pasts and different futures decide what food to put on the table. Watch Montana Fare at SNHF's Terra site. Congratulations Jaime!
