2009 ELEMENT Film Festival at the Emerson Theater this Oct. 29th

Bozeman – The fifth annual Element Film Festival, featuring films produced by graduate students in Montana State University's award-winning graduate Science and Natural History Filmmaking program will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21st in the Emerson Theater. Doors will open at 6 p.m. a meet and greet with the filmmakers. Food will be provided by “18 Miles to the Border” and drinks will be available for purchase. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Dawson Dunning picks up 2 Telly Awards for Ceiba: Nature and the Maya Creation in the categories of Cultural Film and Cinematography.

This film was made with the Belize Institute of Archaeology and is about the wildlife in Maya culture as told through Maya creation stories and representations found at ancient Maya archaeological sites across Belize.

The Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival accepts current and former MFA student films.

Films of MFA alumni, John Shier and Eric Benick, along with current MFA student, Jennifer Grace were selected as finalists in the 2009 Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival competition. Judges from around the world representing the Festival’s Board of Directors viewed 425 films entered into some 750 categories from more than 25 countries, for a record number of submissions.

Kate Lain and Andrew Sobey's film, 200 Block, screening at the 2009 1 Reel Film Festival at Bumbershoot, Seattle’s annual music and arts festival.

The film, 200 Block, is one of 100 US and international short films included in this year’s program. 1 Reel Film Festival, now in its 14th year, is curated by Seattle International Film Festival. This year’s program will feature 24 themed programs. 200 Block will screen as part of “The Meaning of Life” block at 8pm on Sunday, September 6.
